It does circulate some air. Not a lot, but some. However, what I found is that we can see it from across the room and when it slows down, it is telling me the fire needs stoking. The fan, combined with the stove thermostat, are excellent tools to use to help you regulate your fire at the level you need. It takes a while to get into the habit of stoking your woodstove, so it doesn't go out if you are using it to heat your home. The fan blades may need a little bending/adjusting to fix them so they don't vibrate. Easy to do. I wouldn't have any woodstove in the future without this fan and thermostat.

The media could not be loaded. It spins blades just fine. However, out of the box, it pushed basically no air. Might disturb a candle a tiny bit. So, I took a pair of pliers and increased the fan blade angles. That makes quite the difference. Now it pushes a significant amount of air (relative to before).
The thermometer it comes with is junk, needle just plain fell off within a week. No, it never overheated. I use an infrared laser thermometer to check stove top temps so no big deal.
Worth it, I think so. Only had it for two weeks, but it works great since I tweaked the blades.

Very quiet and warms up (runs) quickly. They do move air, just at a very low level.

The fan(s) were purchased to move air from a propane furnace in a small toy hauler. The furnace is a small propane unit that is vented to the outside and does not have a blower. This allows it to be used without drawing down the house batteries. However, there is very little air movement. I purchase two fans based on previous reviews that said they run well but lack power. Placing one fan on the heater, did not move enough air to mix the cold floor air and the warm ceiling air. Using two fans did make a difference and I believe it would take three fans (not enough room on the top of the heater for more than two) to provide enough mixing. The fans are super quiet and start up within 1 minute of the heater being turned on.
The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that they are just a little underpowered for what I had hoped for. Running 2 fans does produce a small (but noticeable) difference in the thermal layering experienced in heating the trailer in freezing temperatures. I would like a little more air movement but I am okay with what it does and there is no battery drain like you get with a regular trailer furnace. Plus, even at the lowest heat setting, they run constantly.
