Fabric is a light weight canvas. It must be fully packed to resemble the shape as shown in the photos. However, I absolutely love this bag. I love how it attaches to my suitcase, I love the size, and I love the pattern. The straps feel sturdy and secure. I received several compliments by flight attendants. I had been looking for a travel bag that would fit over my luggage handle. It was hard to find one that was not excessively long, some of them being 20 to 23 inches. I thought some of them that I considered looked like a diaper bag because they were made out of quilted polyester material.
