I was so glad to find these. They are my favorite Field pea. All the other brands that I've looked at, have added smoke flavor. Some may like that but it is a big turn off for me. Allen's brand in my opinion, is a very good quality product and very tasty.
I will add that they were a bit pricey from what I use to pay at the grocery stores, but I haven't been able to find them at any of the grocery stores. Hoping they soon return to the grocery stores at the normal price or the price drops on Amazon.

My favorite canned "bean". About the only one I care to eat. Nice rich flavor. Firm but tender and creamy texture. Compliments any main dish or pair with rice for a simple but satisfying meal. Also makes a great start for the best baked "beans".

These are the best peas money can buy. One year I paid almost 3 dollars a can in the virgin islands but I wanted them so bad. I didn't know Amazon had them so I bought a dozen to bring home which put me over on my weight and the wheels to my luggage didn't hold up...lol! Still it was worth it until I found them on Amazon!
