Avoid car dealer navigation card rip offs

This card appears to replicate the OEM card installed when I bought the car as new. The dealer wanted over $400 to provide and install the latest version of the navigation disk. This slightly older version works fine, and installing is simply plugging it into the USB port. The only downside is that we have not been able to clone the card to use as a back-up.

My screen functions on my 2017 Mazda6 went wonky with lots of rebooting. I read that it could be a faulty NAV card so I purchased one of these. Immediately fixed it and it worked well on a couple of road trips, although new developments weren't in the database. Bought March 23 and the card failed (no navigation message) late June 23. Bought a second one and the system is now working again.

My GPS/NAV system in my 2015 Mazda3 was having problems. It started to reboot shortly after starting my daily commute. I thought it was cold weather related, but I was wrong. The rebooting frequency increases to a point that GPS NAV was impossible, so I removed the SD card. This stopped the rebooting problem, but at the sacrifice of GPS NAV. I called the Mazda dealership. They said it was a common problem and the fix was an updated GOS NAV SD card...to the tune of $450. Whoa! Instead, I bought the SD card update from this supplier and bingo! Works perfectly again.

The GPS data was original on our auto and outdated by several years. With the auto off, remove the existing memory card, insert the new card, start the auto and wait a few minutes.
Delivery was within a few days, cost was about 75% less than the quoted dealer costs, and I didn't need to make an appointment or drive to the shop for a 30 second swap out.
