This picks up the presence of my smart phone the minute I'm within a few feet of my car door. The only problem is it won't "unpair" when I go into the house and my phone tries to broadcast to this unit instead of the speaker on the phone. You have to remember to turn off the pairing every time you exit the vehicle.
Pairs just by turning it on!!
