I bought two of the 31 gallon boxes when on deal recently. They assembled quickly, in minutes. You do have to use some force to snap them together once you have the parts and slots lined up. I put mine on an outdoor rug and was able to assemble them without any issues. I did position each piece I was adding on the ground and pressed firmly from the top of the piece(s) I was connecting to the one on the ground after making sure I had the slots lined up. (The instructions shows you adding the 3rd piece from the top. Just flip it over and put the 3rd piece on the ground, like you snapped together the first 2 pieces. Add each piece - before you get to the top piece - the same way.)

I plan to keep mine on a patio that has a sail shade over it. I don't think they would hold up long term if left in full sun, and I will likely put a towel over each one in the summer to help protect them from the SoCal sun. I will also not be keeping items in them year-round that can be damaged if they get wet; I wouldn't leave chair cushions in them over the winter. Even if they don't let in water from top or sides in the rain, the bottom isn't raised and I'd expect water to seep in at the bottom in the event of heavy rain. (I live on flat lands where water run off is slow during heavy rains.)

These deckboxes are firm when sitting on them. They are a little too tall to use at an average patio dining table, if you want to use them as extra seating at a table. But they are a good height and strong enough for an average to larger person to sit on otherwise.

I like them. They offer convenience and fit a need I have for pool items in one, and, in the other, to just throw stuff in during the summer (extra towels, chair cushions, books, whatever I might have outside that I do not want to put away each night but may not want to leave out and exposed to the elements over night).

This small storage bin is exactly what we were looking for to store a few things on our small apartment patio. The color is neutral and perfect for the space. We needed something to safely store birdseed and other outdoor items like winter salt, patio chair rain covers, etc. We have local deer that will eat all the seed in one sitting, so the small lock that was included is perfect. It also keeps any potentially harmful items like winter salt and other outdoor/car related chemicals locked away from any curious neighbors or kiddos. We have had a bunch of recent storms in our area, and so far the bin has been 100% waterproof. No leaks yet! I would whole heartedly recommend this storage bin to anyone.

We use this box on a carrier rack on the back of our mini SUV for trips when we have a lot of luggage. Waterproof (in some very heavy rains and winds), well made, the hinge works well so far (1 season of use), light enough to move around easily but sturdy enough to trust. We added our own lock - which we know could be broken but hopefully it offer a deterrent from casual passerbys. When not on back of car, we use it on our deck. Nicer looking than many options out there and my husband had no problems assembling unit on his own. Would buy again

I love this derck box. I had been "using" a wooden one. I put air quotes around "using" because after the first couple of years, I did not use it at all. It was full of spiders and mouse droppings and everything was wet. I cannot believe I waited as long as I did to get rid of it and go for this box, which solved all kinds of outdoor storage problems. I highly recommend it and would buy other boxes as needed in different sizes. A purchase I am so pleased with!

I was tired of the kids having their pool toys all over the place or taking everything out of the larger deck box to find the goggles, so this is perfect! It's great for all the balls, sinkies, and smaller toys. My husband said it was a little challenging to put together, but he was able to correct a mistake he made and get it together fast. Looks great outside and seems durable. Although I won't let anyone sit on it because the top doesn't feel like it would hold the weight of a person.
