Take note of the size, this thing is enormous in hand. Compare the size to any icepick you currently use to see if you want something this big. My use is not for breaking up ice, but other purposes. At this size it may be perfect for hacking up huge ice blocks. I got it for dipping up tiny aliquots of super extreme hot sauces like Satan's Blood and Da Bomb. It's almost too big for that. It will work for probing tenderness on BBQ briskets.
