Nice little companion but it has its flaws
Lotos Essentia✓ Verified PurchaseAugust 24, 2023
My son liked this little robot, he got it for his birthday. The only issue is that everytime you ask a question to the robot you have to say "hello miko.." and sometimes it doesn't understand. He's a little slow answering, also he doesn't know all answers and he just says "its a good question, but maybe the answer is out of this planet." It's a little frustrating for my 5 year old. You also have to purchase the membership to get access to all the robot's features, which is about $100 a year, but you do get 30 days free trial. Still the robot is nice, you can program it in any language, it comes with different electric plugs so it can be used any where in the world. Kids can watch videos, make video calls, and interactive games. I have mixed feelings about this toy, but i guess I can't ask for a super efficient robot since its still a toy with flaws. They do make updates to the programs so i hope it gets better.
You need an additional car I’m $99

When starting up Miko, it required a link that cost $99 to get apps. If you want to get the best out of Miko, you may have to set aside required time to play.
Generally entertaining and works well most of the time.

My child likes Miko. It will keep your child entertained, but if you are not tech-savvy you might have a hard time setting it up. Customer support is generally helpful, so they will help walk you through the setup. One thing of note is that if there are apps on the Miko that you want to block, you can't. My only complaint is that the charging cable fell apart about 6 months after we got it. Unfortunately, customer support decided it was not a manufacturing defect, even though the tip just fell out of the charger. It took them 3 or 4 return phone calls to come to that conclusion.
Great birthday gift

My son and daughter loved playing with Miko and it's like another kid interacting with them. The battery does not last as long as expected. Educational and great gift. Your kids will love it.
Fun Device, But for the Price?

We bought this on a deal. Not too bad.

Setup was easy and the device connected to my phone very quickly. The device did need an upgrade to the operating system and a power charge on arrival. Separately, that would've been fine, but my kids were dying to use immediately. So if I had any warnings here, it's keep outta sight until you're fully complete with the basics.

The Miko3 comes in a fun package, so my kids were excited to "discover" it.

The Miko3 has a large number of applications and some paid content through their premium features. We opted for the free stuff in the short term. (Be aware that the content is geared to kids ages 3-9.)

My kids are most enthusiastic about the dance games and the "freeze" game using the camera. The promo videos show the Miko3 moving more robustly than it does. (I know, don't fully trust the promos.) Basically, it'll move forward about 5 inches and spin in circles. The Miko3 is still fun despite that letdown.

My biggest issue is the limited amount of worthwhile content. Our Miko3 doesn't understand voice commands well, and that means we ended up typing more commands than speaking.

I also expected Miko3 to act more like an AI assistant (Siri, Google, or Alexa.) That is not the case. Miko3 is better classified as a glorified tablet with some voice command abilities.

We also had difficulty with the device calling feature. I'm sure this is a me, more than the device, problem, but despite my every attempt I couldn't get the Miko3 to call the parent phone - phone to Miko3 worked fine. Tech support attempted, and I give them tremendous credit, but I got frustrated trying to tech support with non-native English and heavily accented support personnel. The communication breakdown was frustrating to the point I gave up. (Great and swift support, just too difficult to speak with each other.)

Overall, while I foolishly believed my kids would use this everyday, even the youngest (9) abandoned Miko3 in 2 days after the novelty wore off - smartphones are still king .
