Couldn't get lenses UPDATE
the sum of all kisses✓ Verified PurchaseMarch 2, 2024
Ok we are several months into getting prescription lenses and they are finally back. After not being able to get the lenses locally I sent them to Boomerang. It took about a week to get the shipping box from them and then after that another 12 days before they said they received them. I had call customer service and they updated the return shipping to two day service. After they were received boomerang the lenses were made quickly. So all in all about 3 weeks however when I received them the prescription was wrong. Apprehensively I called boomerang's customer service. They were wonderful. They upgraded shipping sent me a label by email and once again my frames were wisked off by the USPS. They arrived at boomerang again after about 7 to 10 days. Once they were into boomerang's system it was 2 days and then they were back to me. This time the lenses were great. I have no problem whatsoever with the frames. Echo frames are really cool but the hassle of getting prescription lenses makes me wonder if it was worth it.

I got the frames on 1/26 and it took to 3/25 to get them useful.

Went to Myeyedoctor since they were local and were referred to by Amazon. They sent the lenses to be made three times and they came back wrong each time. After a month they gave me the choice of taking the glasses back or getting some other pair. There was no way to contact Amazon to find out what the problem was. They said they have the correct UPC code but it resulted in the wrong size lens.
Pretty darn great

Update; 3 months later, still great. After my post Amazon reached out to troubleshoot my issue of the phantom assistant beeps. We did a factory reset on the headset and it's been fine since. Also wanted to note, it would seem a recent updated fixed my complaint about the volume being separate for the device, requiring me to use the volume buttons on the frames to adjust. Now I can just adjust the volume from my phone volume buttons. Love this change. 100% worth it.

I have owned and used my razer anzu and Jlab frames for the past 2 years, loving the convenience of smart glasses. These echo frames have the audio quality I loved of the Anzus, with the battery life I loved from the jlabs.
Fit: They are light, yet feel quality. The "Wide" frame one I got is a perfect fit for my fat head. Not to insult those of us with big heads, but this is a hard find. The Anzus in comparison were tight and heavy, and have adjustable ends to improve fit, which is very needed. Wish there was a nose grip, but most don't have this either, and my after market works great. Won't fit on charger if you add and silicone ends to keep on face. Tried an assortment, but the charger is a tight fit.
Sound: Audio is clean with good base for this product type, however I have had some small Bluetooth issuses this past few weeks owning them. Several times they have lost stereo sync for a few seconds before correcting, and I have had one instance of it not connecting and needing turn them off and on again to fix. They can pair to more than one device, so I can sit at my computer and just start using them without needing to re-pair. And at 40% volume is easy to hear, but no one else can. Phone quality is great, good voice isolation.
Alexa: I have echos in most every room, so I am used to using Alexa. I started by changing my wake word, so I knew which device was listening, and it works pretty ok. Slower than my dots, likely due to Bluetooth connection. But I had to just mute it after a day or two of it constantly waking based on the audio it was producing. I never noticed any one saying echo in my YouTube videos, but it seemed to think so. Definitely the weak point for the device.
Battery: battery life has been great, like all day use great. I listen to music at least 2 or more hours of my day plugging away at work, plus phone calls, YouTube, ECT. Then hours of use at home. I charge at the end with about 10-15% left. I would say about 15-20% battery is used per hour when in constant use. And the charging method is great, much better than a cable.
What I would like to see: don't call it power save mode to disable the wake word, just make it the option, own it. I want to change the voice like on all my other echo devices. Give more customization options for the button mapping, and allow the volume button to be remapped. It is usually more convenient to reach into my pocket to adjust volume than touch my face anyways. The separate volume control just causes inconvenience. battery use graph would be nice
Overall winner in function; HORRIBLE charging station design.

I was a bit worried that the sound quality, especially for phone calls, would be a deal-breaker. Let just say, It's definitely not. The sound for music and audio books is terrific. As good, if not better than my ear-buds, AND it leaves my ears free to pickup ambient sounds (like cars coming up behind me when I'm on my daily walk). I'm told by everyone I've talked to that when I use them in conjunction with my phone I sound just like I would if I was holding the phone to my ear. No 'down the well' speakerphone sound or 'can you hear me NOW?' break ups and faint voice quality. So..win-win. The only problem I have (with the frames) is that the square frames are way too big for my face. I should have gotten the rectangular or round ones. But that's just aesthetics.

Now for the BAD nws. The charging stand for these is the most ridiculous contraption that has ever been invented...or at least, has ever been my misfortune to be forced to use. It can sometimes take 5-10 MINUTES just to get them seated so that they are actually charging. If that red light is blinking at you, you might as well have left them on the desk. On VERY RARE occasions I can get them seated in a minute or two. Most of the time I am frustrated beyond beief before I can get them to start charging. And what am I going to do? Not charge them? These aren't exactly disposable lenses, wear once and throw away when the battery runs out. I have no idea who came up with this asinine design rather than just having a base you can lay them on or a charging cable you can plug in. But whoever it was should be fired. I don't appreciate spending this kind of money for something that is going to give me daily headaches just trying to put them away for the evening. Amazon, do something about this!
My only complaint is why didn't I get it earlier!

I bought the latest Alexa Echo Frames, and they're a whole new level of cool. I can't believe I'm just getting them now "“ really, it's a bit late. After many years, I finally bought a new piece of tech that surprised and delighted me.

First off, the design is on point. I bought Round frames in Blue color after using the 'Try it on' feature on my phone. I wasn't sure how they would look in person, but they actually looked exactly the same, and even better. I laughed after trying the glasses in-person when they arrived because I usually spend hours at the optician trying new glasses and am never happy - I right now have Gucci red glasses and they make me look older than I am. But here I am, trying something for a few seconds and really liking it, very trendy "“ that's new for me.

Another concern I had before buying was that they would be heavy and uncomfortable for me to wear for a long time. To my surprise, the slim temples and nice materials make them comfortable and stylish.

But let's talk about the smart side of it. Alexa on the go is a game-changer. I can make calls, listen to notifications, and even start a playlist without getting out my phone. And they're water-resistant and scratch-resistant, so they can survive my normal rough and tough handling.

Same as my glasses, I wear the Eco-Frames for the entire day, and the battery life is good all day. I have not faced any charging problems called out by a few other people. I actually like the charging stand as it lets me sit my Frames on it without worrying about entangled wires. It took me a second to figure out placement initially but now it works perfectly. I now take all my work Zoom calls through Eco-Frames, and that has been a game-changer because I don't need to carry my Airpods anymore and can listen to music. The biggest plus for me is that I can't lose Echo-Frames while walking, biking, or running "“ I've dropped three pairs of earphones so far, and they are expensive as we all know!

Echo Frames have very clear sound, just like high-quality earphones, and switching to them means one less device for me to carry. And in case you lose your Echo Frames, then you can even ask, "Alexa, find my smart glasses," and it will do the job!

Overall, I see the Eco Frames as comparable to smartphones "“ once you start using them, there's no turning back. I genuinely can't believe I didn't get them sooner!
Glasses are great, charging cradle was made by someone who hates glasses-wearing folk
Jeremy✓ Verified PurchaseJanuary 27, 2024
I've been an Echo-Frames wearer for each of the three iterations of their glasses, and while I really think they've gotten worlds better with the look, weight, and performance of the actual frames, I'm convinced that the person who was in charge of the cradle was someone who doesn't wear eyeglasses, and instead was spurned by an ex-lover who did wear glasses. Why else would they insist on a design that makes the user constantly have to remove and re-insert the frames into a cradle that holds them in an awkward position, almost impossible to balance and actually charge, so that the user is forced to watch the blinking white light while hoping it turns to solid orange and NOT the FLASHING RED LIGHT OF INEPTITUDE to charge the glasses??? Millions of dollars are put into research at Amazon, and this baloney sandwich is their best answer to charge the product??? I've lost count of how many times I've gone to bed after battling this stupid cradle to finally get the orange light, just to wake up to a red light mocking me with it's flash. If the 4th version of these doesn't have a normal charging solution, I'm out - this is beyond ignorant, this frustration seems like it's on purpose. COME ON ENGINEERS, THIS IS THE BEST YOU CAN DO???!!
