When you teach middle schoolers who put the eraser end in the pencil sharpener and jam it so no one else can use it, these become a funny gotcha. No more need to dismantle the sharpener or use needle nose pliers to grab the torn up metal end out of the depths of the sharpener. Maybe they will bring their own pencils or learn which end of a pencil actually needs to be sharpened.
