Nice Faux Boxwood Balls

I recently ordered the 15.7 inch boxwood balls to use in my front yard. Living in the south, you don't really want to be outside doing yardwork during the scorching summertime, so these artificial boxwoods fit the bill. These arrive in halves (4 halves total) just loose in a box and are not affixed to one another. If you have dexterity issues, these may be difficult to affix together, even if only using the zip ties that are provided. The green is on point and the plastic webbing on the underside feels like good quality. A southern summer will put the durability to the test as plastic usually breaks down quickly here. The listing boasts about 4 layers, but I did notice some sparce areas. I put lights inside to elevate the look and also some rocks to make sure they don't get swept away. I'm not sure why these are so pricey, but they do add some elegance and curb appeal to the landscape.

They are difficult to assemble and require zip ties. It takes a little while to fit them together. They look really pretty in the outdoor pots that I set them in.

These boxwoods are nice color and texture. They look very similar to the pictures. They're about the size I expected, big enough to have a decent presence. I think if you have the right size vases, you could actually use only one half and end up with four. Or use one whole and two halves for a group of 3. 1 large and 2 small. They are indeed dense and thick. They arrived bent and misshapen from being in the box, so I was not optimistic.
The halves do come as advertised with little plastic pegs and loops on each half to push through to hook them into a ball. The description says, "Use the snap locks mechanism for interlocking the hemispheres." However, it will take someone stronger or smarter than me to make that work.
You need to fasten them together with the little zip ties that are included. The zip ties fit in the little loops without pulling through, which makes it easier to hook them together.
Tip: Put the zip ties in all the loops on each of the two sides before you start tightening them. This makes it much easier when you get to the last few. I added pictures to show the process to hopefully save you from the cursing I did until I figured out a process.
They don't come with anything to secure them in the pot or ground. You'll need to figure that out based on where you plan to use them.
Once they are together and fluffed a bit, they look great.I'm cautiously optimistic that they will hold up well outside.
Mine are starting out by the front door until the Christmas decorations come down on the porch.

These faux boxwoods are very nice however, I had a very hard time squeezing them together. I learned from the gentleman's illustration not the lady's that you have to take the leaves that are right next to the post out then squeeze it together then put them back. My fingers are very very sore. I think next time I will just purchase it together. Also, one of the boxes was damaged when I received it so one of the boxwoods was smashed in on one side, that part is in the back in my container. They don't seem to be that heavy, so I'm a little nervous that the wind is going to blow them out of the containers and off the porch.
