Protein filled alternative to standard pasta

Growing up in Italian household provided opportunities to sample numerous different brands and styles of pasta. In that same vein, lupini beans were also standard fare growing up. While it may seem to be an odd combination, the lupini beans and semolina wheat work great together for this pasta.
The first thing you will notice is the size of the boxes. Typical store bought pasta comes in one pound, or 16 ounce, boxes or packages. Do not let this mislead you as this particular pasta is very hearty and the eight ounce box will fill you up. The pasta dry and cooked has a thicker feel which will satisfy your hunger without over eating. The cook time is also less than that of typical pasta so you can even make it when you have little time. In addition to EVOO, we have had the pasta with marinara, vodka and cream sauces. The biggest fan in the family is our 10 year old.

Pasta noodles tasted great even as leftovers. Protein amount makes these great as a vegan/vegetarian option. The extra fiber is a bonus also. Albeit, lower in carbs, there is still plenty to not make them a carbohydrate neutral dietary option. All and all, I will certainly keep my cabinet stocked with Brami.

If you can get this stuff fresh, it is SO good. Particularly with some pesto and Parmesan. From Amazon, or whichever warehouse sent mine, the pasta is crumbled, discolored, and past the expiration date. Four stars because it's truly a great product but I highly recommend buying this in person at Whole Foods if you have one near you.

The taste is great and doesn't get mushy. It also doesn't compete with the taste of the sauce. Plus the beans add protein and fiber and other nutrients that ate heart healthy.
