First time owning a battery powered string trimmer made my SKIL and I think this is good quality product. Putting it together is easy and after charging the battery, I tried it and it is powerful enough to do a good job. I used to have gas powered string trimmers, and they are definitely more powerful. But, the pulling of the string to start the engine finally did my shoulders bad, so I decided it is better to switch to a battery powered unit. The handle distance is up to you where you will feel comfortable with it. My only concern is the battery. It is a tad small so I would think it should be fully charged before every use. Overall, I am satisfied with this product. I use it to trim around the edges of my lawn and it is very useful.

Fast quiet no finger tingling like gas trimmer

I've only used this once on a small yard. It performed out-of-the-box just the way I expected and it was simple to use. I don't feel I can rate it higher (or lower) until I've used it a few more times and changed the line, but my initial use was positive. I have had several line trimmers in the past, both gas and battery powered, and I have been dissatisfied by 'magic' line feed mechanisms which either use far too much line or just don't advance the line at all. This uses the tried and true bump mechanism to advance the line and it just works. If further use justifies a change in this rating, I will update this review.

It took me quite a while to get this trimmer reviewed because it's been raining almost every day since I received it.

If you've ever tried to weed whack thick wet grasses, it sucks unless you have a very powerful machine with edged string. And your legs get soaked.

I have two weed whackers. One is a professional-grade Shindaiwa and is gas-powered, the other one is a light weight corded electric trimmer for smaller tasks. I ordered the Denali to replace the latter one.

Being battery-powered it is certainly more convenient to use although it's not quite as powerful as the corded trimmer. But it takes care of the smaller jobs pretty well.

The battery life is okay and is, of course, dependent on how thick and/or dense your weeds are, i.e., how difficult they are to cut.

If it shipped with two batteries, I could complete the smaller jobs in one shot. As is I need to recharge to complete the task.

At the current price of $104.99, I think it ought to ship with two batteries. I think you can find a better deal with either two batteries at a similar price point, or a comparable trimmer with a single battery for less.

I like the weight, power, and comfort of this trimmer. The battery run time was a bit less than hoped for but it's a good compromise and I can pickup another battery. I'm happy with this trimmer my old electric is over weight and really awkward so this will be my go to trimmer.
