I'm not sure of the dimensions of my freezer, perhaps 2 feet long by 1 1/2 feet deep. I measured it about a month ago, just before ordering these. The racks come with zip ties holding it together, and you will need a serrated knife or something that can cut through the ties, another review complained about how tight they were, but just saw them off, they're plastic on the metal frame; it's not like you can damage the shelving getting the ties off.
Both shelves come with plastic covers on each leg. In order to attach one on top of the other you need to remove the plastic covers on the top piece. Leave the covers on the lower shelf piece. If you plan to separate them in the future, and use in cabinets instead of your freezer, you may want to save these covers, they certainly protect non-metallic surfaces from the legs.
The shelves fit inside my freezer perfectly. There's plenty of room in front of them if room is needed. The top shelf allows flat items like a pizza or two, the center and bottom areas allow plenty of storage space. Since they don't go all the way across there's room on the side for more stackable foods.
These work really well.
