Bought this to cover up some curb rash on a 2017 Nissan maxima sr midnight edition. They definitely don't look new or anything but I was very happy with the results. I cleaned the spot first then "sanded" it down but stopped when I noticed I was starting to dull the surrounding paint. I would prob just avoid the sanding entirely if the damage isn't too bad. Then I filled in the rash with the paint pen about 3 times over the course of a couple hours. This was about a week ago and it rained AND I got a car wash since and the paint hasn't come off. You definitely can't even notice the cover up unless you're STARING at it up close. For $15 or whatever I paid I'm super happy
Works as advertised

Simple kit to improve the look of curb rash on a wheel. It will not make it perfect, but you shouldn't expect that for the price. It costs hundreds of dollars to get a wheel professionally repaired. Value for money is high. The kit "repaired" curb rash on my (almost new) black gloss wheel and it looks much better. I am pleased with the result. Take your time while doing the repair. The better you prep the surface the better result you will get.

Curb rash on 3 wheels. I ordered this one product because it was on sale and I figured if it was a bad purchase, then at least I tried it and it was on sale. I'm glad I bought this. It did wonders on my wheels. I have the OEM wheels and so the Ice Silver was a perfect match. I was able to sand down most of the curb rash on all 3 wheels. On the 3rd wheel, the rash was give or take 8 inches long and deep into the wheel. I used roof siding to finish that wheel off since the product sanding block had run out. I was careful with using roof siding but it did the trick since I did it slowly. I followed the instructions with the paint pen. Shook it, and blotted the tip on a piece of cardboard. I covered the scratches with 3 coats, waiting 10 minutes in between the coats. Car sat in the garage for 2 days and removed the tapes around the painted areas. I was happy with the finished product. Like others have noted, up close, you can see the "cover up" of the job done but for me, the most noticeable wheel was the one that had the long and deep curb rash. But from far away, my wheels looked curb rash free and I've already forgotten how bad they were looking prior to me using this product. I give this product 5 stars because I was able to use roof siding to finish sanding down my last wheel. The products sanding block is small so if you have multiple wheels that need sanding, and they are long and deep, I suggest your order 2 of these or buy another sanding product to be able to finish off the sanding. I think the pen is enough to paint over with multiple times. Hope this review helps you.
If you're careful, with the right wheels it's close

I'll try to upload a video after my most recent repair finishes; I've used it for some simpler curb rash so far, which, while big, was pretty shallow. In those cases, I just sanded it down until I felt it was smooth "enough" for a $20 (really, let's call it $3 because there's still plenty left) repair. Cleaned it up, and then applied the paint to what was about a 3/4 inch long gash of alloy showing through the matte black powder coat.
Some areas which I was able to get flatter and smoother repaired noticeably better. More patience and care will lead to better results. Even so, for the "less" good areas, I'm very pleased with the results. Maybe not quite the professional level, but the value prospect versus buying a new wheel (if they even exist in your style anymore) or paying someone (and possibly losing stickers, plates/plaques, etc, on the wheel in the process, which can have a negative aesthetic impact) is enormous.
Most recently, I had to dodge a reckless driver in my neighborhood and put a good ding in the lip in one of my wheels, as well as some other minor scuffs that had happened over the last year. Currently, the aluminum patch stuff is curing, but it looks like it should do a decent job of cleaning it up. I'll try to remember to get pictures once I'm finished.
If I sanded the scuffs flat, I have no doubt it'd be extremely hard to tell that anything ever happened.
Your mileage may vary; pay careful attention to your wheel color. My Sparco Trofeo 4s in Matte/Satin Black very closely match the matte black paint provided in this kit. After a little bit of natural wear, the color itself is indistinguishable.
