I liked this , but the only reason I returned it was the size. I really wanted a substantial piece. I purchased it to replace a heavy glass butter container which my husband cracked a piece of glass off. It's the second glass butter container he broke a piece off of a different manufacturer. So I wanted a different base. I thought wood or babmboo would be the best option. Long story short, I prefer that it's would be a same sort but hold maybe two sticks of butter.

Wonderful butter dish; very clean looking, and easy to clean. I love that you can see how much butter is left. I use the East & West Coast butter, but this would not fit the Kerry Gold butter. You could always cut it in half if you're so inclined. You would just have to be careful transporting it and make sure that you have both the wood and glass in your hands. It looks great on my counter and the butter stays fresh!

My husband and I are making a new home, and I wanted a butter dish we could have easily assessable that wasn't an eye sore. I find this to be such a nice little detail on our limited counter space. It's so easy to clean. And spacious too. It is in fact wood which I was pleasantly surprised by because you never know so, as soon as it arrived of course I washed everything gently by hand and then I sealed the wood with some oil. I redid the process of sealing 3/4 times over a day and a half and let it sit over night to absorb completely before actually putting it to use. I'm so pleased with it, and look forward to having this in our home for many years to come.

I like the butter dish. It is pretty. The glass lid is heavy and fits well into the groove. However I thought it had a rubber seal or something to make it airtight. It does not. the lid can move a little in the groove. It will work as is. I will keep it.
