This thing rocks! I've used and own several different thermal optics and most of them cost way more than this one and their image quality isn't any better. The 4x magnification is perfect for detecting heat signatures out to 150 meters... Plus it comes with a lanyard that can be worn around the neck when the optic isn't mounted on a rifle.

If you are looking for an easy-to-use, accurate, and inexpensive thermal optic this is the perfect product. I have wanted a thermal optic for personal use but did not have the money to go all in with other products I have seen and used. Comparative optics cost thousands of dollars while this Covert Optics product has competitive pricing. Using this product, I noticed small animals can be hard to see when further away. For example, I could barely see a duck from about 100 yards out using this optic, which in reality is extremely impressive still. No other issues. A huge benefit of this product that made me fall in love with it, is that it uses batteries. Other thermal optics are rechargeable which can be nice unless you run out of charge on a cold day or forget to charge it overnight. With this, you can always keep a spare set of batteries on your person and never worry about the product not working. I very much appreciate the 1X Zoom. Many other small handheld thermals will go with a negative zoom which is nice for seeing things right in front of you but not for seeing far away.
Covert Optics has really thought of everything here and made a great product for the price.
