Update: I misunderstood some stuff, so I'm here to check myself. You do not HAVE to purchase the subscription to keep cameras active. Customer service reached out to me within minutes of my initial review and helped me better understand, then offered to send me the right USB storage chip to use with the system. Money is tight, but I wanted a security system because crime in my neighborhood has been on the rise. I wanted to feel better covered when I wasn't able to be home. These cameras give me peace of mind. Customer service has been amazing and helpful with all my questions.
Original review:
These cameras are OK. I think it's kinda lame that you have to buy a subscription after 30 days to be able to use them. There is a delay with their recording time. You can adjust how long they record after a motion is detected. There have been some glitches, like getting daily notifications that the camera temperature is -99°. It happens multiple times a day. But then will renotify saying the temperature has gone back to normal.
All in all, for the price of original purpose, they are alright. Just don't like the subscription..

More versatile than you'd think

I have tried samsung, wyze, arlo and now Blink. These cameras I think are the most versatile, and simplest to set up. They do work on 2800mah or more rechargeables. They do work with no batteries, plugged in to a dollar store USB power adapter. And the quality is very good if you go into the app and set it to high. You don't need a subscription; you can get a $15 256gb USB stick and record it yourself on the sync module that comes with the cameras - you lose some cloud-based AI to identify people, but local motion detection works well enough I find especially when you take the time to map out the areas of the image you are interested in. The camera mounts you can buy inexpensively here work great with them especially when attaching to trees, roof structures etc. What else...oh yes, the app runs identically on android and windows. You can just keep all your cameras turned on for motion detection, then bulk arm or disarm them with the push of a button. Haven't tried the app on iphone or mac yet, but I imagine it will since it uses an android subsystem that it installs. So basically, a great value for peace of mind, and inexpensive to operate.
Has a clear view

I bought the 3 pack security camera pack. The price was good"¦ it came with a free 30 day trial.. after that you would either have to use a usb flash drive.. sold separately. And i recommend that you buy extra batteries"¦ also sold separately.. to keep continuous use.. i have had these cameras for about 3 weeks now.. pros are.. clear view, great night vision.. I get notifications when there is movement/ person on my porch.. you can speak through the camera. It was easy to install.
Cons are"¦ you better be pretty tech smart , it did not come with instructions.. you have to download them, and then sync your devices.. again you have to have some patience doing that.. my son in law is an engineer and I had him do all of that for me..also I would get a notification that there was movement on my porch but I wouldn't see anything on the camera, there was a annoying delay when I would check my video and sometimes it would only pick up the sound of a vehicle leaving my driveway but not the vehicle it's self"¦ sometimes it would record the whole thing"¦ and sometimes something is setting the camera off but it shows nothing in the video.. it's not near any trees so I have to figure out that.. sometimes it works great and other times not so much.. there is definitely room for improvement.

It works with Alexa and my phone!

I have three cameras set up outside - front door, back door and driveway. They are very small and blend in with my brown wood, i don't think you would notice them unless you knew where to look. It took a little fiddling but I named all three cameras and can see live views on my phone and my Echo Show. (Note that is says "no live views" but if you tap the movie camera icon you see live views.) If you tap the camera icon you take still shots for storage. My Sync module has a flash drive for local storage.
I had trouble getting announcements but that was a "duh!" moment - they needed to be "armed." I get voice announcements on my Echo Dot and Echo Show as well as a notification on my phone. I can see live views on Echo Show and my phone. I made a group of the cameras so I say "Alexa show me cameras" and the Echo Show displays all three on one screen. I can tap the one I want to enlarge. Works great!
I live in the desert so it will be a few months before I can see how the cameras tolerate our 100+ days. They are mounted out of the direct sun so hopefully that helps although the operating temperature is rated to 95.
The camera quality is very good for both day and night. I haven't tried the sound so can't review that.
The installation was simple, the application was straight forward. Any confusion on my part was cleared up by reading the emails from Blink or using the forum.
These cameras replaced one I had by the front door which had a terrible delay in notification - the delivery person was gone before I was notified they were there! The Blink camera allowed my to watch while my grandson entered and exited by the driveway gate. Yay!
I'm not sure why other reviewers had trouble with Alexa since it worked fine for me.
I left 1 star off since I've only had this system a couple of weeks. If everything continues to work this well I would rate 5 stars! I'm recommending to friends and family.

Reliable camera with some exceptions

I enjoy purchasing and reviewing smart products for the benefit of enthusiasts. After reading many dozens of reviews, I thought of trying out the product myself.
First impression: looks and feels the solid build.
Pairing and operation: pretty straightforward and easy. Picture quality: average to fair for the price tag offered. The night vision too is not bad for the price one pays. The operation with Alexa, especially the motion alerts works beautifully and quite reliable.
The optional local storage option is definitely a big plus.
I would probably not purchase the camera to use as a standalone battery operated camera as that is not practical in the long term. For starters, with lots of features activated, it's no secret that battery wont last two years as claimed by the manufacturer.
However, the USBC option to full time power it on mains is a notable plus!
I only see a downside in Blink's policies relating to camera options linked to payment. Blink should seriously consider and review these absurd policies and restrictions forced on their customers. Adding plus features like human detection for only paid storage customers is fair. But restricting live view recording option, physical storage deletion off the app, local storage recording at a time restricted to a single camera etc are pretty low restrictions one can apply to force customers to pay! My take is, most customers will look for other options than being forced to pay!!
Blink should not do this and seriously re consider some of these policies.
Overall, I see a good piece of hardware for the price point. The product has much more potential than what most would consider, provided the forced restrictions can be relaxed to benefit the customer.
Hope Blink will consider these changes soon!
