Bought these to add to a "Your First Period" survival kit for my daughter to wear in conjunction with the washable menstrual pads I also got her. Unfortunately, we didn't have the kit on hand when the day came so the poor thing had to use those disposable, plastic pads. As soon as she could, though, she got these on with the washable pads and felt SO much better! They fit her comfortably, like she's just wearing regular underwear, and she feels more confident just in case she has a bit of overflow. I selected these, specifically, because they were black to make any stains harder to see and so she could easily differentiate them from her regular underwear. These are easy to maintain; I just wash with other darks and then lay flat to dry. I can't really speak to their absorbency yet so that's why only 4 stars for now. Otherwise, these are really great! Will definitely get more when the time comes that they're needed.

Wow I wish this was around when I was a kid! I recently had the convo with my daughter about what to expect because I suspected that we were nearing that time and started creating a small emergency kit for her. Daughter says they are a 10+, says they are really comfortable. We had never used period underwear before so its all new to us. She is 11 but tall and developing curves, wears a 16 in kids jeans. Bought her Xxl they are a bit roomy but she says they are very comfortable. I think an XL wouldve fit very snug. She wears them with a pad so its extra protection for leaks at night or at school.
