If you need a gate them trust me this works perfect and last years this is my second set for another property I put up a fence and gate up on and I'm never disappointed with the quality and ease of putting the gate togeather
A good sturdy framework but has some limitations

The finished gate seems robust and will hopefully last for years. I bought 2 of these kits, one from the local hardware store and one from Amazon. The one I bought locally had what I would consider a defect: the brackets where the 2x4 supports fit were too narrow so the 2x4's had to be pounded in, spreading out the brackets, but they didn't quite seat. This one didn't have that problem.

If you plan to place a cut out window in your gate, you may not want to use this kit. I had to position the frame at the very bottom of the gate and this gave me just enough room for the window. The adjustable, telescoping frame seems like its just trim. The 2x4s do all the support and the smaller tubes get thrown out. Another thing I didn't like about this kit was the hinges. They are very stout, but all the weight is carried by the bottom hinge. The hinges also require a large gap to work properly (about an inch). The very large screw for the hinges works okay with solid wood but if you have metal posts you will need to be creative with the attachment. For this, my 2nd one, I decided not to use the provided hinges and catch and went with traditional gate hardware. The provided catch is cheap but functional and only accessible from one side.

Overall, this kit will help you build a functional, rugged, long-lasting gate without too much hassle or a lot of thought. If you want to be more creative, I recommend a kit with just a good set of corner brackets and get the hardware separately.
What a sturdy side gate

. Took me like 6 hours to assemble.
. Not for people that never do repairs around the house.
. Most important thing is the 2 anchor Bolts, as you can see in the picture, I bolted them both sides up. when the manual told you to bolt them, Top Up and Bottom Down. I learned this trick from YouTube.
. if you bolt them in like the manual says, then you will need 2 people to put it together.
. level adjustment will be extremely difficult.
. the reason the manual tells you so is because they are afraid that people can just lift the whole gate up and steal it, but you cannot lift the gate up, when it is locked. So that is nonesense.
. with both bolts in the upside position like my picture shows, you can adjust the level of the gate easily by turning either the upper bolt and the bottom bolt inside or outside by one full turn.
. originally bolt them in until you don't see the threads anymore.
. the manual says to drill the 2 holes with a 1/2 inch spade bit fully, by the length of the threads on the bolts. But after that you will also need to use a 5/8 spade bit to drill about 1/2 inch in, only 1/2 inch, so that you can turn the bolt in fairly easily. I say fairly easily, because it is still very hard. Also drilling the 5/8 opening so that you can drive the bolt in STRAIGHT. If the bolts don't go in straight then you will have a big sagging problem when mounting the gate.
. if the gate is sagging down, then you can either turn the upper bolt IN by 1 turn, or turn the bottom bolt OUT by 1 turn. Do the reverse if necessary. Choosing to turn the upper bolt or the bottom bolt, depends on how far the 2 botls will be from the 4by4 post. Basically you have to level the gate, but also make sure that they lood good too. You dont want 1 bolt so far OUT or so far IN.
. only adjust the sagging issue after you finish the whole lateral upper arm. Work on the sagging issue, and then assemble the lower arm. At the end, the anti sagging cable kit will take care of any minor sagging issue.
. I think this is the most difficult thing to tackle, and that's why it took me 6 hours or more to finish the job, and I do it all by myself, without anybody helping me. I did this before Xmas, so all of my neighbours have left, and no one could have helped me.
All I can say is that I never had a side gate as sturdy as this one, and I can basically step on it without any sagging problem.
LAST thing is PLEASE, put a string across when you screw the wood planks, so they look good. Gosh, people on YouTube are screwing them in UP and Down and Up, just look at it, gives me a headache.
Good luck and happy Side Gating.
