For the size and weight this spot cleaner works for our family messes. Would like it to have a stronger vacuum so I can get rid of my spot vacuum. It has removed our stains in the car and stairs. I used it for 2 different old stein cleaning, car seats and house carpet. It worked pretty well on the car seat stein, but not on carpet (the stein was way too old, maybe). Yes, it is quite noisy so you probably don't want to use it late at night.

I did not realized that this machine does not take soap. However, that was ok because I was able to scrub the stain myself. On the down side it is extremely noisy and it does not suck up a lot of water before you need to empty the tank. But it does suck up the water really well.
