I was a bit disappointed with this purchase. I bought it mainly for the sound expectation, as I have a child with autism, but it's no less quiet than my husband's beard trimmer. The attachments are minimal, so you have to be ok with a very basic haircut. I will say I really like the safety of the blade. It's so nice to be able to trim around my boys' ears and know they won't be cut if they jerk.
