You don't have to worry about charging it and it's magnetic, so you'll be able to keep up with it. The quality of the screen is comparable to the iPad. Why pay more? The Fire Max 11 is the best fire I've ever owned....and I've owned almost all of them. I've been looking at this keyboard case for awhile, but the price kept me at bay. I already had two different bluetooth keyboards that worked fine and paired easily with my Fire Max 11. However, I've been having issues with both of them lately so decided to grab a Certified Refurbished keyboard case since it was less than half off the regular new price. I always get great Amazon devices gently used from the Amazon Warehouse that are like new. This was the case with this purchase. First of all, the keyboard works GREAT and is a seamless experience. You don't have to worry about pairing issues or dropouts where you have to revive the connection. It just works- which is fabulous. What I don't like is that the keyboard is always live; so if I want to just use my tablet folded up with the keyboard behind it I have to watch that I'm not pressing anything inadvertantly. Also, there are many times that I just want to use my touchscreen for things and not my keyboard. There should be a way to turn the keyboard off until you want to use it. Some might say, "Well remove the keyboard if you're not using that part". That's not going to work because I want a case that protects the device in case I drop it. I want something covering the screen and when this case is closed it's the keyboard part covering the screen. The other part that goes over the back of the Fire Max 11 magnetically is kind of a joke and it has a "kickstand" that you have to gently pull out or you'll be pulling the whole thing off the device. Honestly, I prefer some of my cases that have rubbery bumpers in the corners and a kickstand, or even some of the folio kinds that feel like a book and have strips where you can prop up the case to various degrees. Also, those other cases are more decorative and pleasant to look at with lovely colors and designs. This one is rather depressing with its dark gray, spare look. The bottom line is that I was tired of the unpredictability of my other bluetooth keyboards and wanted a keyboard that would always work, every time. I've got that now but as far as a super secure and aesthetically pleasing design...not so much.

The Keyboard case is connected to the tablet through wires and pin contacts. It doesn't require batteries or charging. The key travel is descent as the layout. It is on the small side but never had issues typing on it. It is indeed not a heavy duty case keyboard but for clean areas at home or in office. There are some other after market products that are made to handle harsh environments ...
