I connected all the cables and picked 1080p, which is default. Turned on my PS2 and it worked. I tried switching to 720p and see how that works but got a blue screen that says no signal. It could be my PS2 though because it's old and dying or half dead already. Games freeze on it. Guess I should just stick to my PS4. But for this product, it works as advertised. And I no longer have to deal with the RCA cables.

I'm so glad I found this. I have my retro collection which I've kept an old bubble style tv around to use for. Now with this adapter I can play my old gaming systems on any tv in my home! I tried it out already and had no issues at all getting it to work.

I'll start by stating the obvious, the PS2 outputs analog video signals, so by necessity a box like this is going to capture those signals and convert them into digital. This device seems really capable on that front, only really noticing a slight grainy-ness on dark images, a common artifact of digital video compression. Honestly it performs about as well as any cheap AV-to-HDMI adapter you could find out there and you get the added benefit of it plugging straight into the PS2. It's powered off USB which you can just plug into one of the console's USB ports making it really simple to set up and use.

However, I ultimately recommend just getting a separate AV to HDMI device and a standard analog PS2 cable, especially if you want to use several old consoles. Having separate cables will allow you to use the generic AV to HDMI device for other retro consoles and AV switches are much cheaper than good hdmi switches.

But if you want a simple way to just use your PS2 on a more modern TV, and don't care about other consoles or expandability, you really can't go wrong with this.

If you need to convert your PS1 or PS2 to HDMI, these work great for that. Mine has worked consistently with no issues. If you're looking for great visual fidelity, I would look into a more premium converter.
