- •EASY TO INSTALL—go cart brake band does not attach directly to the axle, so it would theoretically fit any size live axle. The brake drum has a universal mounting hole pattern with both 2/5" & 1/3" bolt holes -- those 8 bolt holes will hopefully match those on your wheel brake hub. There is a hole on either end of the brake band. One end fastens to a stud mounted on the cart but is still able to pivot, and the other end fastens to your brake rod.
