This bucket and lid are the perfect size for our new wood-burning fireplace insert! Since the stove is so efficient, it burns the wood so much more completely than our old open fireplace. This results in MUCH LESS ash and cinder left behind after even an all-day and all-night burn. We remove about 1&1/2 gallons of ash at each of the few cleanings we've performed, I would say about 10 days apart. Luckily, because it is much smaller than the majority of the ash buckets we found, it serves its purpose very well for us! Plus, we can keep it on our hearth where a larger bucket would take up too much space.
My one concern is with the included brush, in that it sheds its bristles far too easily suggesting it is poorly made and will not last. The included shovel works well and looks nice with the wooden handle.

I like this bucket because I can load it with ashes and not worry about starting a fire from a surprise hot coal I didn't know about. It holds plenty of ash that I can just empty by placing a plastic bag over the top, hold the bag close to the bucket and turn it over, dumping the ash into the bag. I lift the bucket slowly and let the ash fall into the bag and wait a minute or so for all the particles to settle, Remove the bucket, tie a knot in the bag and place it into the trash. Done, no mess, no worries.

No much to review for an ash bucket. It holds the ashes from the firebox until I dump them outside. The only negative would be that the handle is too long for easy maneuverability inside the firebox. Solution.......I sawed off the handle to the appropriate length for my woodburner.
