This bench scraper, like many of Misens products is very well made. The spatula and scraper feel sturdy and hold up nicely to frequent use. The walnut handle comes roughly finished and poorly oiled, but that's nothing some fine grit sandpaper and mineral oil can't fix. I find using this bench scraper for transferring prepped ingredients to pans much more efficient than simply using a knife!

I've been using Rachel Ray's food scraper for years now, and was never a huge fan of it. I've also tried a few from William Sonoma and other brands on Amazon. Misen's bench scraper locked it in hard for me. Brass fittings, walnut hardwood, chamfered smooth curved edges, light weight but super sturdy, this thing has it all! It's small enough to not get in the way, large enough to scoop lots of food (or waste) from my cutting board and doesn't have angled edges to accidentally dent my wood boards. I hand wash and hand dry. The finish on the wood was okay, but after a few washes it did start fading which is fine - I put on a layer of tung oil and it's been impervious to water ever since. If you find it on sale, 100% go for this.
