I bought this as a gift for my parents after my mom used mine at my house. She has a well where she lives and getting a filtration system was cost prohibitive. This pitcher does a great job filtering their well water and making it taste great! BONUS - No need for them to buy single use plastic bottles anymore!

This is a great unit if you do not need a lot of filtered water at one setting. I use it with heavily treated city water and it comes out tasting like good well water from the country. No chlorinated/bleach tastes, very clear water. Do not be in a hurry as it takes it a few minutes to filter the jug to full, and may take refills to accomplish a full pitcher. Estimated time is about 5 minutes to complete treatment to a full pitcher.

you think it would be pretty difficult to mess up a plastic pitcher. You would be wrong. I had a couple of iterations from this from Brita in in the past with basically no issues.
The first thing that I noticed when this showed up was that the spout was very steep, which made you have to tilt the pitcher a ton for any water to come out and then it came flying out when you did. annoying design choice, but whatever it happens. After only a few weeks the flimsy black plastic cover that connects the top of the handle (which for some reason is a separate piece of plastic from the pitcher itself) to the lid, popped off and would not properly reattach. So then I started using the handle without the cover. However, the handle only actually secures at the very top, so every time you pour, there is strain on the connection point. Today I was literally carrying the pitcher by the handle - it broke off, and the pitcher fell to the ground and shattered.
HOW DO YOU MESS UP A PITCHER THIS BADLY

Gave Brita customer.service a call and they are phenomenal. Shipping another one right out to me. We will see if it fares better.

My old Brita water pitcher developed a crack after many years of use. So, it was time for a new one. I was very pleased to see the new pitcher had fewer moving parts to clean. Also, I liked the the SmartLight Filter Change Indicator. The pitcher looks very sleek and modern. And, of course the standard Brita filter does a great job filtering the water. Excellent choice!
