I bought some metal ones. I liked the feel, but mechanically they let me down. I bought six-pack last time, took 1 maybe 2 (if it was 2 I don't know where it went) and gave the rest to my nephews along with other gifts for Christmas. The one I had continued to work excellent. I did 120 sit-ups every day for over a year, I think, and I also walked laps around my house. I don't know what happened, but I lost it, so, that is why I am back for more. The only negative is that these have no built-in light, so you can read them in the dark.
