I have a 1994 Ford E-350, and needed to replace an old single DIN radio/cassette player. The radio is low on the dashboard, behind the gear shift lever. I wanted a good radio, bluetooth, a nice display, and easy to use controls. This fits the bill. This radio is one inch taller than the single DIN, allowing a larger display, and not hitting the A/C controls just above it. It looks like 2 knobs, but the left is a volume knob, and the right knob is really a three position (left, center, right) rocker switch. So when I am driving I can easily find the volume knob, and use the rocker to seek stations. Trying to drive, and hit the touch screen, is hard due to the location.
The firmware looks updateable, but no idea where to look for updates. Also no place to get a PDF manual.
The manual says it has a 15 amp fuse, but it came with a 10 amp one.
Installation was straightforward. One potential issue, the front and rear speakers on each side shared the same negative wire, but this radio had 4 negative wires, one for each speaker. Connecting the negatives together worked fine.
The remote is handy when parked, but must be pointed directly at the sensor, and is a bit finicky.
I had not looked for Android Auto, but gave it a try. Of my 3 android devices, all Android 12, only one one worked with the radio. One said "incompatible versions", the other would start to connect, then disconnect, and repeat endlessly. I had thought I could control the radio with Android Auto, but the radio controls the phone. No point to that as the display is low and behind the gear shift lever. Worse, my phone needs a PD charger, and when connected to the radio there is NO charging. The radio's USB ports do not do PD, or any fast charge. So they will slowly charge my other devices, when I already have a fast charger that also does PD.
Audio through the BT is fine, and I'll use that to play music when parked.
Like most car radios, it needs continuous battery power to retain settings, which is problematic in an RV. But the defaults seem to work fine for me.
All in all, a nice single DIN radio, especiailly for the price. I took a star off due to the poor Android Auto performance and the obsolete USB charging mode.
