Very pleased with this purchase! Love the diverse action pieces, the new marble trampolines, and the sliders too! It requires few trial and error to line up the jump with the trampolines and the catch basin, however it works almost every time. The only things I would pick up on are the stability and sturdiness, which doesn't stack up to older standards (the Marble Genius Extreme Set we purchased in 2019). The marbles are also a bit dull and could use more variety.
Generally, we love this set and are excited to use it more in future marble run projects.

My daughter asked for a marble run for her birthday - so here we go!
Her party was over the weekend and she was so excited to open her gifts to find this HUGE marble run set (this thing truly is massive!)
We broke it all out today and wow - it's quite overwhelming at first. There are SO MANY PIECES!!
We started out by attempting to build the run on the front of the box - it's the run that is included in the instruction booklet in the box. It went well at first, but about half-way through, we ended up giving up because the instructions were SUPER confusing and we couldn't tell what pieces connected where.
By that point though, we were starting to get the hang of it and we were able to take the bases that we had built, and finish the runs on our own.
My kids played with it all afternoon - they were absolutely fascinated watching the marbles run the different courses!
After a while, we went ahead and downloaded the free app - and we realized that that is where we should have started. The instruction book that comes in the box has instructions to build just one run - and it's a very large, intricate run. The app had instructions to build simpler runs - that way you could build up to the larger, more intricate one. We were able to build one of the simpler runs without any problems and again - learning as we went, we felt like we really got the hang of it after that!!

There are a decent number of pieces, which means there are quite a few variations you can build. My 8 yo could get the pieces connected by herself, but my younger kids needed assistance with pushing the pieces tighter.
It's a fun rainy day activity for all of us to do together (homeschooling family), plus I can usually tie in a little physics learning with force and simple machines (ramps, etc).

Marble Run is a fun way to encourage creative play. I'd recommend this particular set for older kids as even my eight-year-olds get frustrated piecing it together at times. Some of the pieces could use improvement but there are so many pieces that we have been able to work around the imperfections. The set comes with a booklet that shows all kinds of different ways to set up the track and plenty of marbles to experiment with.
