Quite impressed by the sturdiness, the fit, and the finish of this item -- the welds are smooth (not sloppy or made in such a way that food or fingers might be snagged on them); the black non-stick coating is hard and evenly applied; and (most importantly) the wire is thick and strong.
I bought this to elevate items over the bottom of an old 17-quart Magnalite roaster I have been using for decades -- the biggest ever made by that great old company. Concerned that my food should not rest in its own rendered fat, and that it should not be in contact with aluminum (which has been linked to Alzheimer's disease) I wanted a roasting rack that would solve these problems and be strong enough for a "17-quart bird."
This item works perfectly for that purpose. Buy it if you have similar concerns!
