Lomi has handled everything I fed it. I follow the suggestions and a pan full of kitchen goop turns into odorless brown stuff I mix in my garden and my regular composted. I have an outside small bin for leaves and such but it was not handling kitchen waste well and attracting rats. I do cook a lot so a lot of peeling some fruit that went bad and odd leftovers. I add my daily coffee grounds and eggshells. I know it is not composted as in good bacteria but I add it to lighten my clay soil and it works a treat. It is a little noisy but I have off to the side in the laundry so no problem. Little or no smell orheat. Have had it a few months only. Happy

It works exactly as it says it does. Put food waste or scraps in... get compost out. We use it every day for things like table/plate scraps, vegetable trimmings, paper towels, old fruit and vegetables, even paper plates. It is quiet, has no smell, and is simple to use.
If I had a complaint it would be that it is just a bit too small. If you are trimming up a lot of vegetables or fruit (like a full melon or two), you likely have to save some scraps to run a second time. I wish they made a LOMI the size of a trash compactor
We have noticed at least a 50% reduction in what goes in the garbage can. With our landfills overflowing, what better thing could you do to help the environment?

I run this about every other day. i was kinda expecting an overpriced gadget but it does exactly what was advertised. it did take a few tries to figure out how to end up with the consistency i want, but i think i have it right 90% of the time. i do wish the instructions gave more info about when to use which cycle, but other than that, i'm completely pleased with my purchase.
