I'm very happy with this pH meter. After receiving, the first step was to do the calibration. There are included directions to take you through thru process step by step. It only takes a few minutes. You use one each of the included 6.86 and one 4.00 powder solution dissolved in 250ml of distilled water. I love that the batteries are included. It's ready to use immediately after calibration. Makes it easy to put this right to work!
The instructions are surprisingly good. I don't expect much from instructions these days. But they have plenty of specific instructions.
Also, I like the case this meter comes with. It stores very nice and neat. I'm a bit OCD about storage solutions so this made me happy. There is included storage solution as well.
The meter itself is waterproof so there are no worries while working in or above the water.
Overall, I'm pleased. I have numerous hydroponic systems so this comes in handy and will be used frequently.

Works as expected after calibration

I wanted this digital pH meter because i have difficulty reading color strips.
The meter works as expected.
Mixing up the calibration solutions is a bit of work but not unreasonable. The chemical powers would disolve more quickly if they were ground finer. Some large chunks were difficult to dissolve into solution.
The calibration process is easy, the device steps through it prompting you which solution to use.
After calibration I tested the reference solutions and as you would hope, the results were spot on.
I tested my pool water and compared it to a dip strip. My admittedly color challenged eyes would judge the color strip as being between the 6.8 an 7.2 marks, probably closer to 7.2. The digital meter read 7.3.
After seeing how well the meter reproduces the results of the calibration solutions I trust the accuracy of the meter above the dip strips.
I'll provide an update once I get the water fully balanced and can compare the results with the values I get from the pool store.

Well made. Instructions are good for calibrating just wish it came already calibrated as it was kind of confusing to me. I felt like a scientist.
