Really liked this one but clip fell off and I lost it. Went to buy another but they raised the price too much.

I am tired of apps, bluetooth, syncing, etc. and I was just looking for something basic to track my steps each day. I was super excited about this affordable pedometer after seeing a lot of good reviews, but I've found it a little frustrating. The first one I received was in pristine condition, but the battery compartment was SO tight it could not be budged or opened at all. I can't remember if I ever even turned it on, because I exchanged it due to knowing I'd never be able to change the battery when necessary. The second one I received had clearly been opened before, evident by tears where the flap at the top of the box tucks in. I couldn't tell if it had actually been used or not, but it appeared clean and seemed to work so I decided to keep it. I used it for a few days and was really liking it, but soon noticed it was resetting itself to zero in the middle of the day without me pressing the button. The first time it happened, I assumed it was a fluke, but it's an ongoing issue. I now find that I'm trying to look at it throughout the day and make a mental note of how many steps it says so I can add the steps in my head when it inevitably zeroes itself out, which it now does several times each day. Honestly, it's become an annoyance, and my memory and attention span aren't good enough to add up the steps all day long and try to compensate for it repeatedly resetting.
If it weren't for the zero issue, I'd like it. I usually wear it on my ankle or at my waist, and it counts pretty accurately as long as you don't take a few tiny steps at a time without surpassing the 10 step minimum for it to register. For example, if I water the garden and I'm moving around a good bit without stopping, it will register many steps. However if I were weeding in the garden, moving only a few steps at a time and stopping frequently, it would not register as many steps due to the frequent stopping before hitting the 10 step minimum (even if I took the same number of steps). It also seems to work on the elliptical, but for some reason it doesn't count accurately on the elliptical when I wear it at my ankle. It does count elliptical strides for me if I wear it at my waist.
UPDATE: I originally thought the new battery that arrived in the unit would be sufficient, but after seeing it mentioned in another review, I changed to a totally fresh name-brand battery and this seems to have fixed the random resetting issue. To the seller's credit, they reached out to me several times after I posted my original review and were very proactive about trying to make things right with a refund or replacement. I didn't find that necessary, but I appreciate it. It seems to be working well now, and I'd recommend it as a simple, low-tech alternative to all the apps, trackers, and whatnot.

Simple, Efficient, and Reliable - A Fantastic Pedometer
Tiffany L.✓ Verified Purchase•September 11, 2023
I recently purchased this pedometer and I must say, it's been a refreshing change from the high-tech, app-connected gadgets out there. Its simplicity is its greatest strength. The pedometer's design is sleek and unobtrusive, making it an ideal choice for those who prefer a minimalistic approach. Clipping it onto my pants, it's barely noticeable, yet it does an excellent job at tracking my steps throughout the day.
What I appreciate most is its accuracy. Whether I'm walking around the office or going for a brisk walk, it reliably counts each step, providing me with the feedback I need to stay active. The large display is a bonus, allowing for easy reading of my step count without any hassle.
Another standout feature is its battery efficiency. It's been weeks and I haven't encountered any issues with battery life or had to struggle with a tight battery compartment. Plus, the auto-dim and shake-to-wake function is a smart touch, conserving battery when not in use.
While I've mostly worn it on my waist, it's versatile enough to be worn in different ways, catering to personal preferences. I've tried it on my ankle during elliptical workouts and found it to be just as effective.
In conclusion, this pedometer is a fantastic tool for those seeking a straightforward, reliable way to track their daily activity. It's definitely a great value for anyone looking to keep a simple yet effective tab on their physical activity.

A Wonderful seller whose care for the customers' satisfaction deserves an applause

It was because pedometer apps downloaded to the phone are not accurate that I decided to buy an independent one. I got this delivered to me yesterday and hurriedly tried to set it up and use it. To my great disappointment, it does not start to count no matter what I did. I cannot judge its accuracy because it does not give me a chance to find out. What should I do with it? Since it only cost $10.99, I will just throw it away.
The above comment was written when I received 3 different items I ordered and none of them worked. It was not unusual for me because I seemed to have bad luck more often than others. I might have just got a defective piece. That does not mean the product is not good in general. I received an email from the seller completely unexpected. He apologized to me for the defective merchandise and asked what he should do to make it up to me. He offered to refund or replace the item. I felt very bad about stressing him with my comment. I declined his offer. I appreciated his caring for the customers' happiness and satisfaction.
The seller surprised me by voluntarily refunding me for the device. At first, he asked if he could send me another one for free. I decline it. It did not matter since the price was so reasonable. I didn't ask to return for a refund or replacement. A seller so caring for his customer is very rare. The device I got was just a defective one. Other users found it to be very good. There is no risk whatsoever to buy one from this seller. Chances are that you will get a good product at a very reasonable price, or, in case it is defective you will not lose your money.
