Perfect Pier Mount for a 4X4 wood post

I love this pier mount. I've looked at several and this was the one that works best for me. First off, most pier mounts are over 5" square, made to mount on a cement or brick post. I'm using a 4X4 address post to mount the light on so those would be way to big. Next, I did find some for a 4X4, but the screw holes were on the outside 4 corners and I was worried that they would be too far out to the edge of the post and would split the wood. That's where this one is perfect. The screw mounting holes are inside of the round mount so no worries of splitting the wood, plus it gives a very clean look to the mount when the light is mounted on top. It went on very easily, and the light that I bought fits perfectly on top. Slightly snug which is what you want. I love it and couldn't ask for anything better.

Screws fasten from the inside and are not exposed. Metal is thick enough that side wall can be drilled and tapped (threaded) for machine screws to secure light fixture.
