We bought this for our pet indoor Juliana pig. If you're a pig parent you know they love to knock over their water or try and sit in the water troughs - even when indoors :) when starting my search for the perfect bowl, I knew I wanted something heavy, with a smaller dish so she couldn't sit in it. We found the perfect solution with this automatic water bowl! We LOVE IT and most importantly so does Ruby!
The things that really stand out about this:
"¢ Love that the lining of the bowl is metal! It keeps the water cooler which is SO nice since we live in Arizona and the tap water comes out warm in the summer!
"¢ Love that when you flip the water reservoir to place it on the bowl it doesn't come spilling out! There's a stopper on it. Once flipped and secure the water flows out at a nice pace but never makes a mess for us!
"¢ So far Ruby had NOT been able to knock it over! Yaaay!

My husky drinks a lot of water so we were looking for a dispenser large enough to keep up with him. This is very well-made and sturdy. The only challenge I have is that when full, it is very heavy, so if you need to move it, there's no handle to help lift the dispenser off the ground. I had to purchase a step stool to sit the dispenser on to make it easy to bring the water from outside inside. The other inconvenience is that there are two small cutouts on each side of the container and they gather a lot of water/dirt. As some mentioned, this does come with a filter, but we have yet to replace it as I use filtered water to fill the bowl.
Good product. Very sturdy and easy to clean.

Firstly, I need to start with that I have one of the most drooly breeds of dog in existence, a Newfoundland. He drinks a LOT of water per sitting and we have multiple water vessels/fountains around the house for him and his 'siblings' to share. With that said, we do fill this up/change the water a number of times a day but if we had gotten something bigger we feel it would not have been a good idea. If my drooley bags love wasn't as drippy we wouldn't have to change the water as much. It is an anal retentive thing on my part as the thought of him or one of his 'siblings' drinking backwash makes me want to vomit 🤢 . I like how sturdy it is. It is not flimsy and in spite of his giant size he doesn't seem to be able to flip it around and turn it upside down like he can with others which is most helpful. It is a good size for me because it isn't crazy heavy when it is filled to move around since we fill it/clean the water so often (remember the newfie backwash). I was looking for something easy to move and easy to clean yet big enough my big baby can drink enough from and this is perfect.

I didn't give 5 stars because the package was badly damaged. I'm surprised it only had a some not so noticeably dents in the tank. I needed it so badly I decided to give it a go and I really do think it's a great water dispenser for my animals. They like it. I also feel good about the safety of the tank and stainless steel base. I almost sent it back because the box that contained was so badly damaged. Never has Amazon ever sent me anything that looked like that. So look to that issue please Amazon, it is a very nice tank and does not deserve to be treated like that.

I got this new water dispenser after my 4 month old belgian malanois decided the old one was no longer good enough for him and tossed it across the room. Water and all.... fast forward to our new beauty! We have been using it for a week now. It seemed to last my belgian and 7 year old Doberman 4 days before I needed to refill it. My puppy has decided it was worthy of staying in its place and has not decided to relocate it... yet. We also reside in Arizona with 100+ weather every day. This water not only looks much nicer and fancier than the older plastic one from Walmart, but it stays cleaner with the stainless steel bowl. LESS BACTERIA! I highly recommend trying it out.
