These take a little bit of detailed measuring and cutting to get them snug in place but not complicated for the most part. The one annoying thing (that is mentioned in other reviews) is that the "square" at the top and bottom are not exactly lined up. (E.g. all four sides don't line up in sync at the top and bottom). Because of that we had trouble using the enclosed pivot feet for the top (under the handrail). We decided to just utilize the holes that had been there from where the wood poles came out of and it worked much better! These seem "heavier" than the old wooden spindles so now it seems that the whole railing is sturdier as well. Overall we are happy with the product and the end result.
