I prefer this to many other brands

Toothier than the Hobonichi, Sun Star and Kyoei Orions brands I currently also own. It's very sturdy but remains flexible. It's a touch thicker, less bendy, and bit less soft than the Hobonichi, but yet it doesn't damage 52 gsm paper. I find that a 100% smooth board is too slippery; this one has just a tad more 'resistance' so that's why I'm enjoying using it. But a satisfying pencil board experience is pretty much dictated by your particular pen+paper combo and that's why I keep many different pencil boards in my stash.
I like this one a lot and the designer (per an included info/note) clearly put a lot of effort into its creation. But I don't think it's for everyone, especially if you're used to the super slick, paper thin boards from some other brands. Lastly, this arrives securely packaged, no fear of bending or damage (as I've ordered writing boards that arrived warped or heat-damaged).

Great board

So I evidently have an "almost 2nd generation" board, so mine is dark grey with grey guidelines instead of dark green and yellow. But it behaves wonderfully. Ghosting is greatly reduced (and anyone using Tomoe paper knows how thin that is), and it's sturdy enough to use all the time, but thin enough that it lives in my notebooks.
I have tested it in Galen Leather Tomoe River, Galen Cosmo Air Light, Leuchtturm1917, a Rhodia, and a MD notebooks, and it behaves wonderfully with all, and fits inside each notebook without issue. Well worth the cost, will be buying more so one can live in each notebook.

Great quality and features!

This is my first shitajiki, and it's fantastic. It's thin and flexible but feels very sturdy. Love the look of it too. I'd love a B5 size for another notebook!
Neat addition to an A5 journal

It adds a little stiffness to my softcover journals, gives me a straightedge ruler for drawing lines / graphs, and it gives me bookmark for finding my place. Neat little addition, but not a must-have in my book.
