I needed a phone holder for a rental car, and this did the trick! My criteria was simply to attach my phone to the dash or windshield so it would be easily accessible without fumbling while driving, and to be able to transfer the device to another vehicle.

The windshield suction mount is very strong and provides enough rotation to position the phone so that it is easily viewable. I like that the mount also allows itself to be folded out of the way to allow use of a sun shade. Removing the mount for repositioning or use in another vehicle was relatively easy and didn't impact the security of the suction mount; the suction is so strong and sticky, that you have to work a bit and remove it much like 3M strips"”pull on the table to break the suction, then slowly lift away from the mounting surface. The stickiness is not an adhesive, but is the inherent nature of the plastic suction disk; it doesn't leave a residue.

To ensure good adhesion to the phone, you need to use one of the metal plates provided. Since my phone has magnetic charging and I already have a removable wallet attached to the case, I simply slipped one of the provided metal plates between the back of my phone and its case in a position that wouldn't interfere with the magnetic charging location (I didn't expose the adhesive on the metal plate). When I want to attach the phone to the mount, I just remove my wallet and pop the phone on the mount. After a couple times, it's pretty easy to align the metal plate on the phone with the magnetic mount.

I considered some of the magnetic charging mounts, but since they still require the use of a charging cable, that feature didn't seem worth the extra cost; either way, I have a cable hanging across my dash.

Super happy with this purchase! It took me forever to research and make the purchase, but this product def met my needs!

I have had a magnet on my dash for years. I love it. However my husband insisted that there was nowhere to attach it on his precious Jag. This doves the problem perfectly. No permanent sticky pads and it adjusts perfectly. A real game changer. The suction pad is rather large but it hangs on for dear life which makes the size acceptable. Very pleased to have found this.

Great product, you can use for cell phone GPS or camera. A very strong magnet and a suction cup that you can also mount on the glass. I am very satisfied.

**A Great Mount with Some Installation Challenges - 4 Stars â­â­â­â­**

There are definitely some noteworthy aspects to this mount:

1. The grippy surface, while only effective for one attempt at mounting, is a breeze to clean. A quick rinse, a shake-off, and a few minutes to dry, and it's ready for another go.

2. The inclusion of adhesive metal panels for the phone is a clever feature. I stuck mine to the back of my phone case, and it doesn't interfere with the phone's aesthetics or functionality.

3. The magnetic hold is impressively strong, making it easy to securely mount your phone. No struggling or worries about it supporting the weight of a larger phone and case.

4. The mount offers ample adjustment options to get your phone at just the right angle. It holds that position reliably without gradually slipping out of place.

However, there is a significant drawback when it comes to installation:

The mount is not well-suited for cars with curved or partially leather dashboards. It struggled to adhere due to the curved and uneven surface. Attempting to attach it to the leather was discouraged as it might damage the material. While there was a plastic, flat area in the middle, it lacked the sturdiness required for a secure suction. After some effort, I did find a suitable spot, but it's far from ideal.

While windshield mounting is an option, I personally find it distracting and bothersome.

In summary, this mount offers great features but may not be suitable for all car types, especially those with non-flat dashboards. Consider your vehicle's interior before purchasing. â­â­â­â­

I bought this particular phone holder for use in a 2009 Nissan Versa. I'm a relatively short man (5'4"), and the top of the dashboard of the car is relatively high compared to my head and a bit far from my eyes. I thought the long, adjustable arm of this phone holder would put my phone at the optimal distance from my eyes and at the best possible height to allow me to see the screen without blocking too much of my view out the windshield. And indeed, it does exactly that.

Unfortunately, the construction of the base allows the arm to bounce too much. That means on bumpy roads, the phone moves too much to be readable, and if I hit too large of a bump or too many smaller ones in quick succession, the phone gets dislodged from the magnetic disc and falls on the floor. It's mostly OK on city streets, but I certainly wouldn't recommend this holder for someone who drives a lot on dirt roads or rough pavement.

As for the adhesion, the base started to come off the dashboard once, a day or so after I installed it. But I mostly chalk this up to the fact that I did this in the heat of the summer, so the interior of the car was very hot within minutes after I installed it and the adhesive didn't get a chance to cure properly. It's held on firmly ever since then.
