I have a large unit but it is so noisy that With my hearing issues, I could not hear the TV when it was running. This portable unit is silent and so convenient to carry in my purse. I love it! I also love having the option of using the usb or batteries/ I had bought another small one that is rechargable and it didn't nearly as well.
