I'm staring a small store and thought this would be a great way to take payments. I never had a Shopify selling account before, so I got that all set up. That was easy enough but connecting it to this device took some work. The first time it kept failing out. I eventually had to factory reset the device, delete the device from my Shopify account, then reconnect it. There weren't really any instructions on how to do this and it took me quite a while to figure it out. It's not super intuitive. As a POS device, it works great. However, it really is limited to payment functions. I was hoping with the barcode reading functionality it would help me build out my inventory database as well, but it doesn't really work for that. It's not the full Shopify app that you would get on an iPhone; it's more limited than that.

Once you get it up and running, it works fine. It has a long boot up, which is annoying. That means you really need to keep it on a charger when you're not actively using it. Also, the protective case is an extra $30, and for something this expensive it really should have been included.

If you need a mobile POS, this is great, just give yourself plenty of time to set it up and be aware of other limitations with regards to other Shopify functions.

We've had a shopify store for our family business for 5+ years now. Absolutely love everything about Shopify and as we've grown it's grown with us. Over the years we've been attending more shows to sell our products which has meant that we have been looking at POS options.

Up until now we've used what I believe Shopify refers to as "POS Lite" or some form that's included with our Shopify website plan. That has allowed us to download the POS app on our iPad and use it at events. This device, however, does require that you use POS Pro as best I can tell. At the time of this review I think it's about 80 a month.

The POS Go device is basically a single function cell phone sized POS. You've got all the functions and features of the POS app, but on a device that also can read cards (tap, insert, or swipe) AND a built in bar code scanner. Let me tell you, finally biting the bullet and putting barcodes on our goods was a game changer. We needed them for some national resellers, but at shows it sure makes it easier to scan. Also, if you're not bothering with retailers, you can pretty much just make up whatever barcodes you want for your product so that's easy enough.

I will say that initial setup took a while... it had to download and do a few updates. For some reason I had some network issues, but I think that was on my end. Once that was cleared up it quickly downloaded and applied several updates. Just logged into my Shopify account and used my pin for the 2 factor authentication and everything in my shop was right there at my fingertips. I don't have a receipt printer, but it looks like it's easy to set up one so that might be a future purchase I look into.

So yea... if you're looking at a Shopify based POS system, this handy device is a nice way to go. We'll probably use both the ipad and this device but I MUCH prefer a single device that can operate the software and take payment vs keeping up with a card reader and a tablet.

I like this it was pretty easy to set up. It uses the Shopify store. It was very easy to get started and start accepting payments for our store. It's a rather steep an expensive price but it's a unique device and it works very well. You can accept NFC payments from people using tap and pay on the phone or you can even tap and pay the card if it has the NFC chip on. You have to sign into a Shopify account in order to access anything on the unit and that's one of the drawbacks I would say I wish that you could access like the menu or something for settings or anything prior to logging in but that's not how it goes. So in order to use any features whatsoever at all you have to sign into an account and create an account first. That's a small ordeal but still something I wish it was different with it. All in all I could recommend this device for other people if you have a small business or need to start accepting payments for your business this unit does get the job done fairly well

I love this handheld POS for Shopify. It's literally just what I need for my small business. I don't have to invest in any big register system. This is able to be used in my store as well as in locations where I have Internet access, such as events that I go to where I sell my products I love that has swipe and chip capabilities

This helps me greatly when I go to my markets as a vendor. I got the subscription for just $1 for the first three months but now it's bit too high for a small business. This is a great mobile pos machine. Great battery life. Easy to use. Value for money. I wish they would reduce the monthly subscription because they are charging % of the transactions too.
