The Grab Bar Mounting Kit is a well-designed system for installing a grab bar to studs in fiberglass shower enclosures. The kit comes with high-quality materials and clear instructions. Unfortunately, I couldn't locate the studs behind the enclosure due to wires and electrical equipment in the wall that threw off my stud finder. The result was several unsightly patched-up pilot holes in the shower enclosure. Of course, my inability to locate the studs in no way reflects poorly on the excellent quality and value of this grab bar mounting kit. It should work fine once I get the stud-finding thing handled. That's why I still rate it five stars.

I used this to put a grab bar into our shower. It is a fiberglass shower enclosure. As long as you're careful and you do your measurements right, it works great. I then attached the grab bar to the solid mount and it is very solid. You will have no concerns about grabbing it to hang on, to pull yourself up, and to help keep your balance.

When we moved into our new construction home, there were some serious safety concerns we had to address with regard to the walk in shower. The entire structure was fiberglass and shaped to shed water, not secure my big guy when he had to be seated in the shower and get back up to exit. The flex between the shower wall and the distance to the stud was significant. I asked my "mechanical engineer" son what he needed to make it safe then researched and found these beauties. Thankfully I purchased an extra set so when son dropped one down the hole, we had a back-up! They worked beautifully and the grab bar is very safe and secure.
