Great little water heater - cumbersome display
TYW✓ Verified Purchase•September 6, 2023
This does exactly what's advertised: heats a liquid to a preset temperature and then keeps it between that and a lower set temperature. The only negative I could discern is that the display is kind of cumbersome to use in some situations - for instance if you don't have an extension chord handy and the AC outlet is sideways and/or near the floor. In those cases, you end up trying to read the display sideways, crawling on all fours :-( I think it would have been better if they had the display closer to the heating element, on an extension chord to the wall.
A very handy and portable heating source

The media could not be loaded. I've had the Vaticas 1500w Immersion Water Heater for a while, and this is an attractive solution for heating a large amount of water quickly compared to heating small buckets at a time on a stovetop. Unfortunately, our water stopped working temporarily, so I opted for a quick solution, although I probably should've done my homework because the heater does come with some minor quirks. First, the immersion water heater feels solid, well-constructed, and lightweight, so It's easy to carry. The kit also comes with a digital controller connected to a temperature probe and a piece of steel wool which I still need help figuring out what it is for. The instructions are easy to read but inefficient, and when it comes to the heater, the directions on how to operate the digital controller were nowhere to be found, so I had to figure it out myself. Finally, I usually used it in the bathtub filled with 8 gallons of water, so when I transferred the immersion heater to our bathtub, it took about 45 minutes to heat up to 85 degrees. I wonder if this is convenient for some people, but those were desperate times.
Overall, the 1500w Immersion Water Heater from Vaticas is a solid solution for temporary hot water needs. It's simple to use, although the directions could be better, and instructions for the digital probe needed to be included. Ultimately, It's a good option for occasional use or temporary situations where a traditional water heater is unavailable and reasonably priced. Above Average. B+

Works but took a while to heat up

The media could not be loaded. I ordered this heater because it said it would work for a tub or small pool. It did work but it took a couple hours to heat an old-fashioned steel tub. I believe the tub was just too big, but overall it will work for smaller jobs.
Good

Works perfectly, the ultimate solution for your camp shower!

This is a great way to heat a container of water to a preset temperature without standing over the bucket with a thermometer. I've had one of these heating elements for a couple years and use it to heat a bucket of water for camp showers, so I know it works well for as much as a 10 gallon container. However, I needed a way to regulate the temperature without constant monitoring. The included thermostat is the answer and is accurate to within a few degrees. The only thing to be aware of is that the water needs to be stirred while heating in order to get an accurate reading by the thermostat. I simply turn my Ivation shower pump on and place it (along with the shower head) into the bucket, that does the job nicely. This thermostat was the missing link for me. Now I can go about other things without worrying about the water overheating. LOVE IT!
