I will be leaving my cat overnight for the first time. He is the first cat I've had that you can't just leave a bowl full of food, he will eat every bit at one time. I've set it up to see how he does with it. He heard the food drop from another room and darts to the bowl.
I wish I had this when I was working. It would have been great to have another one for the dog. When I got home from a 12hr work day I could have saved time not having to feed them both.
The top portion was a little hard to get aligned with the bottom. Setting times is also a bit confusing. It does what I needed. I can see where larger kibble may not work well with this.
For the price it is excellent. There are some options I would like but I know I would have to pay more to get those. This is just a simple feeder. Set time, drop food. Oh, it's a nice looking unit too!

The feeder was easy to setup. I have two cats and they can be messy. The feeder could use a longer cord but is usb so I can get a longer one at a gas station. Still it works really good. I feed mine twice a day and the timing is near perfect . It has up to 9 portion controls so getting the right amount is easy as well. I am very glad I bought this unit. I feed them at 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM. The manual has a portion guide in it to help you get started as well as the device has a manual feed if you want to do that. The food hopper is really okay for the size, and the safety straps work.

I have 2 of these set up for a few feral cats for redundancy, as I live 2 hours away so can only visit every 2 weeks or so. To keep it safe I have it placed in a Lowe's Project Source 5 gallon bucket with a slot cut out on the bottom for bowl to connect and goes just high enough to not block the chute. I did add some heavy duty velcro to adhere the front of the feeder to the inside wall of the bucket so that it stays in place and didn't shift. This bucket is square and has a secure lid that has holes where you can add a lock carbiner zip tie etc in case of very determined racoons. It also has grooves for my ratcheting tie down straps that I use around the bucket to secure it in its place. I have a covered outdoor shower built of wood that has a dressing room and bench area. The bucket is super secure but also very accessible up on the bench ratched against an inside wall and the seat of the bench. It cannot be seen from the outside, and sheltered from wind, rain and sun. The walls stop about a foot from the ground, allowing cats to come and go freely from any direction.

This was purchased as a replacement for a similar device that stopped working. I won't further describe that one. This one arrived with easy to read and follow instructions. It was straightforward to set up. Two things that could have been done better: there is a strap to restrain the top from coming off. It is fastened by velcro to two tabs that are applied to the sides of the hopper by sticky surfaces. This is not explained in the instructions. The size of 'portions' is described in a fuzzy way. It was not easy to figure out how much to feed two cats. But it was fairly straightforward to program, and changing feeding size should be easy. It has been here for all of two days, so I don't know how sturdy it is.
