It works. I have poured water on it to see if it flows out, and it does. Though a little slowly. I have hard water, so the black mat has spots on it from daily use, but that doesn't bother me much. The only issue I had was the gap around the faucet base. I was hoping it would me more snug so that water wouldn't get under the mat. So far, I haven't has much of an issue with that... unless my husband is doing dishes -water everywhere.
