This is a fun beginner kit if you want to entertain the grandkids or see if someone has any interest in leather working. The tools work well, and will give you a sense of what it's like to work at a basic level of designing and creating. Obviously, like any hobby, the better you get the more higher end tools you will want to accumulate. There are fun projects you can follow along with in this kit, or you can strike out on your own a bit. When it comes to treating and coloring, follow the directions exactly. We didn't and some of the leather became tough to work with.
