We had to replace our emergency garage door cord after the last one frayed and broke, I'm glad this came with 2 in the package! We used the spare on the attic door and heat sealed the end where we had to cut the cord some. For the garage door, I'm 5'5 and I was able to reach the cord and pull the leveler down.

I got this pull cord to replace a garage door emergency release cord that had broken. The handle has bulk but is hollow. The cord plus handle is 99cm or about 39 inches long, which is way too long for what's needed for most garage door releases. The cord itself is about 6mm in diameter and will not easily fit through the typical hole in an emergency release mechanism. I cut the cord short, tied a loop on one end and fastened it to my garage door shuttle with a small stainless steel quick-link after drilling the hole to accommodate the quick-link. This emergency release pull appears to be a repurposed inexpensive engine starting pull cord. Nevertheless, It looks good and serves its emergency release purpose well.

Unlike others sold, the rope came installed in the rubber handle. The handle feels durable. The braided 3.5 foot cord is certainly strong enough, fabricated for long use. It was easy to install and works well. I used one to replace the broken cord on our fold away attic ladder, the other on a 10 foot garage door chain release mechanism. I read it could be used for a lawn mower pull cord, it might. I would definitely recommend as as replacement for a broken or worn out pull cord for most pull purposes. ðŸ‘

We got this specifically to replace our cord since our handle had the emergency wording and is red while the replacement handle is black and doesn't have emergency wording on it (not sure if that is code on some states, but just be aware). Came in small packaging and is great if you're replacing any old rope lines. Something to note, the cord is long enough for all kind of garage doors so you may need to cut or make a knot on your cord so it doesn't get stuck on anything through it's travel.
