This set is impressive for a small backyard setup, the materials are excellent, very durable and great materials! They are not heavy at all and are great for kids as well as they are not too heavy for them to play with. They toss easily and make for hours of fun! Great set for a casual game of horseshoes. My kids love being outside, and I thought this might be a fun game for them to play together. They're easy to set up, and the quality is pretty good. I wish the stakes for outdoor use were metal or wood, as the plastic probably won't hold up for long. And it'd be nice if it came with a storage bag. But it's fun that you can set it up indoors or out, and the quality of the other pieces are great. It's a nice addition to our outdoor games.

This is a great set for camping or summer lawn parties. I think they missed the mark by not including a drawstring bag to store it in, but other than that it's highly portable. It's lightweight, yet the horseshoes are weighted enough so that they fly through the air well and land solidly. Grab a bottom connector piece and put the flat rubber disk over that connector. Then grab the yellow post and push it into the connector piece. When playing, because I'm not good, I would have appreciated the yellow post being a little taller. It's not the normal length. There are taller red posts that you can pound into the ground, but they're kind of thin and I'm afraid a few taps with a rubber mallet might wreck them. Fun, outdoor, portable game!

It is lightweight but not cheap feeling and very easy to set up. It also comes with directions and suggested game plays. I ordered this horse shoe game set to play when out for a picnic and even indoors. The horse shoes are a plastic rubber type material and are definitely one of the better alternatives for kids to learn how to play the game. The weight and characteristics of the horse shoes definitely differ from the actual thing, so you probably won't get many leaners, but getting around the ring is possible. The ring is plastic too, so if you do toss it too hard at the ring, it can pop off the sturdy base. Only happening occasionally, this is a fun, portable game to easily set up and put away. This would make a great gift idea I think.
