Replaced my cheaper 12V air compressor with thus one. It has a very long air line able to reach all 4 tires without moving the unit. It has alligator clamps that hook directly to the battery termianls. It has an in-line pressure guage. But to accurately check the pressure you have to go back to the unit to turn it off then back to the gauge to assess it only reason I didn't give if 5 stars.

Got this For beach trips,I air down to get by the water and when leaving need to air back up. I was using a regular tire inflator which is slow. This is a much better option speed wise,not fond of having to hook up directly to the battery and it is quite heavy. They did a good job of giving it a fairly small footprint for an actual air compressor and it comes with the hoses you need. That being said this is for people who know what they're doing,you can't put in your wife's car and she'll be able to use it. Seems to fill up fairly quick,it is loud but worth it to save the time inflating 4 tires.

Takes about the same amount of room and weight as my Smitty, but puts out over 12 cfm (!) versus 5.6 (which itself is quite good).

Took my 35s from 19 to 30psi in 35 sec each. Because it works faster, it doesn't get as hot.

Another advantage is the hose, which is heavy duty rubber instead of pvc, and longer - long enough to reach all four tires without moving the compressor. Couldn't do that with the Smitty.

Price is about the same, though occasionally price drops. I got mine for $150, so watch it and swoop in.

Also, ignore all the reviews crying about the gauge. It is the same with every compressor that doesn't have a tank. Nothing wrong with the gauge or design.

Just got my all-top dual cylinder compressor, very nice, just aired up the tires on my jeep, aired quick and no problems, did not get very hot, so far i love it...i'll update after an offroad trip

There's a lot to like about this portable inflator! Firstly, it's heavy duty and powerful, lots of air volume with this, which you wouldn't get with smaller models. This is great for filling up truck tires without overheating the machine or hose. This has an overheat safety cut out, which is pretty standard, but under normal use, most folks won't experience that. I like the insulating feet, and how quite this operates despite it's size. I like the handle and that it folds down compactly. The rubber hose is of high quality and of plenty of length. I like that they provide adapters to fit on the hose end to aid your particular use/application. The case is decent and sized appropriately to hold everything. There's only two things I don't like about this, although the cable clamps for the battery terminals are robust and durable, as is the power cable itself, the cable is fairly short. It's only about 6 feet long, which is just long enough to get power out of the engine bay and to the ground. You might think that this is long enough, especially considering there is enough hose to go all the way around the vehicle. However, the power switch is on the compressor (of course), to power this down you have to turn off the switch, as there is not regulator to set your desired pressure; you have to watch the gauge at the tire and then turn the machine off when it's up to pressure. Because of this, it is difficult to dial in to just the right pressure. I find it is fastest to over-inflate just a little, turn off the compressor, then let a little air out using the relief button near the gauge to dial in your exact pressure. The 2nd thing that I don't like is the dial for the gauge, sure it's my matter of preference, but I find it would be faster to read if they had more numbers on the dial for PSI and a better gradient with different length lines around the dial. In short, the dial is basic and challenging to read. Those two things aside, I think this is a awesome inflator, great for airing up and down your tires for overlanding or for routine mechanical work and repairs in the field.
